TRYING2️⃣UNDERSTAND
I Fooled My Wife Into Walking Barefoot In The Snow
What ensued was a complete shock to her
My wife can’t stand the cold. During winter, she often wears two pairs of woolen socks and covers herself with a thick furry blanket.
The real reason for not being able to stand the cold, I believe, lies in our habits. During the colder months, we resort to warm socks and shoes, underfloor heating, and other forms that keep our feet and bodies around the ideal temperature.
Perform work to keep functional
All body parts and mechanisms need to exercise and work to remain functional.
Not being exposed to colder temperatures (and other factors), those muscles do not get to exercise enough and atrophy.
While exposing our feet to cold temperatures directly, blood vessels still try to constrict. During that constricting, we experience a relatively painful stingy feeling.
The more we expose our feet to cold, the more we train them. That way, we maintain our natural-given mechanism to withstand colder temperatures.
After practicing that for some time, I explained the logic to my wife.
