“You’re like a cyborg.”

That’s what my husband said as he finished applying a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) on the back of my left arm.

And he was right.

From one moment to the next, I could see how my glucose levels behaved. All it took was opening an app, and there it was, real-time information on my body’s individual reality.

To say I was blown away would be an understatement.

For two weeks, I opened the CGM app dozens of times per day. It was the first thing I did after waking up, eating, or just generally doing anything. And whenever my sugar levels rose or fell, I yelled for my husband to come look.

He’s likely happy I’m no longer wearing a CGM.
