Over the years, I’ve struggled to keep a consistent meditation practice. Even with 7 ten-day vipassana courses under my belt and years of commitment, it’s been hard to sustain it long-term, especially while travelling around the world.

Having said that, I’ve meditated in airports, on flights, in bus shelters and bus rides, on beaches, and in forests. I’ve squeezed meditation in wherever I can because the benefits are worth it.

Ever since I started meditating, there has been a noticeable difference in my anxiety levels. I felt more grounded and less emotionally volatile. I slept better, too. All of this gave me more energy, clarity, and confidence in daily life, so it wasn’t hard to dedicate myself to it because the benefits were so clear.

However, due to different home environments being noisier and more crowded over the years, I’ve had to adapt. Sometimes that has meant not meditating for days/weeks at a time.

The environment has been the hardest thing for me to get right. Typically, I need a quiet space to drop into a deep state while having no interruptions.
