If I could do only one exercise for the rest of my life, I’d choose walking.

Walking offers an insane amount of benefits without requiring a lot of skill or effort. According to the scientific literature, it helps us:

  • Achieve and maintain fat loss.
  • Better manage our blood sugar.
  • Increase our energy levels.
  • Strengthen our legs.
  • Improve our mental health (especially when done in nature).
  • Enhance creativity and mood.
  • Improve cardiovascular health.
  • Reduce the likelihood of developing diseases like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer.

Walking is literally one of the best medicines out there, and it requires no gym membership, special equipment, or any other expense. All it takes is for you to put one foot in front of the other, be that in your living room or a nearby park.

And once you start a regular walking habit… boy, you’re in it for the long haul.
