Our gut bacteria are constantly looking for ways to enhance their health.

Well, a paper published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences says that our species of gut microbiomes use plant carbs (N-glycan) as nutrients.

This excited researchers to discover that gut bacteria produced specific enzymes to break down this complex plant carb structure.

Finding out how enzymes are produced is a clear pathway toward uncovering the best way to manage health.

What’s very surprising is that these enzymes also can reduce allergic responses to pollen in foods and some medications.

Perhaps this could be harvested in a way that makes foods and some medications less likely to cause allergic reactions.

Now, that’s wonderful news.
