As a trained clinician, I am well aware of the current trends in medicine and the potential gaps. I’ve always been interested in finding new ways to solve problems.

Here is what I can bring to medium…

Health and Wellness

Health and Wellness are areas recognized as important but inadvertently overlooked in current societies. Keeping this in mind, I want to build a repository that gives new knowledge about these aspects.

Lifestyle modulation

We know that a significant fraction of the disease burden in today’s world is lifestyle related.

A quality diet, avoiding junk and packaged food, reduced meat intake, optimum exercise, sports activity, and reduced screen time go a long way in health preservation.

I am, therefore, committed to drafting articles emphasizing the need for lifestyle modification. These SIMPLE measures could have a lasting impact on our bodies and biology.

Alternative medicine — their approach and rationale

My writings will stress the value of alternative medicine systems (like Yoga and Ayurveda). They work well because they consider the organism as a functional whole and operate through lifestyle changes. They are gaining recognition mainly due to their constructive impacts on the body, and people rely upon them because they have limited side effects.

Unlike modern medicine, which has a razor-sharp focus on disease management, alternative modalities increase health awareness and support disease prevention.

Having said that..., it is also unfair to corner modern medicine. It had an enormous impact on our daily lives. Life expectancy and quality of life increased significantly in the last few decades.

Modern medicine is a science-backed approach and open system driven by facts and data.

Sadly, its course is sometimes too stubborn. It asks for a high level of evidence before a patient recommendation can be made. Also, drugs have now become an integral part of its management, and some of them are having late effects. This is another reason why people are slowly shifting to alternative modalities.

I am a humble believer in a balanced approach. For the best results, we need to capitalize on all modalities (be it ‘modern medicine’ or ‘Ayurveda’). For example, if there is a condition easily treatable with surgery, surgery is the cure. If there is an autoimmune disorder with challenging symptoms, the best option is to depend on anti-inflammatory drugs and immunomodulators. On the contrary — for chronic diseases like hypertension and metabolic conditions like diabetes — there will be a more significant benefit if lifestyle changes are integrated.

Each has its place, and a balanced approach is the key to restoring health and wellness.

Human biology and new discoveries

I will also craft articles about our intricate biology, peculiar disease mechanisms, health technology, and sciences — in general. These topics inspire me. I am hoping they will ignite curiosity and keenness.

I shall provide hyperlinks to the recent literature for enthusiastic readers in all my articles.

I think I made too many promises …Now, it’s time to do some homework.

I hope you enjoyed this article. I’m always interested in your feedback, so please share your comments with me! And don’t forget to follow me for more updates. Thanks for reading!
