Several Life Hacks for Runners
How to make life easier and motivate a runner
Prepare breakfast in the evening
In the morning it is already difficult to force yourself to exercise, and also to prepare food. Take care of it in the evening. Have a snack to go if you head to work after training.
Prepare for your workout in the evening
Collect water and other supplies. This will make it easier in the morning to come to an agreement with yourself to go to training because everything is already collected, you just need to go out.
Energetic alarm sound
Choose some kind of invigorating melody so that there is no chance to oversleep. Personally, this life hack helped me a lot when I trained very early, as I worked in the office, and in the evenings I was at lectures at the university until 10 pm.
Rule of five minutes
The famous rule: promise yourself to do what you don’t want for only five minutes. In running, you can promise yourself to run only five minutes. And most likely you will not want to stop there later.
When you run with like-minded people, you can talk about sports, running, and other simply pleasant things. This will make your workouts more enjoyable. It is also an additional motivation not to skip workouts, so as not to let your friend down.
Don’t just run in training
For example, you can usefully spend a trip to the store, bank, or other matters, replacing it with a run. If a lighter run is in your training plan, it is easy to get things done.
Fartlek under a random playlist
This makes it easier to run fartlek — running at variable speed. Collect a musical selection with tracks of different styles, and choose to play them randomly. Adjust your tempo to the music. It’s more convenient and more enjoyable.
Updating music on your player
Before a long workout where conditions (on the street, without traffic lights, and on a familiar route) allow you to listen to music, you can update the music on your player.
Write down all your excuses on a piece of paper and hang them in a visible place. What’s stopping you? Bad weather: too cold, rainy, too hot, windy. Headache. Tired at work. Many cases. Didn’t get enough sleep.
If so it sounds absurd to read, agree. There is no ideal time, there are always some things that get in the way. Do not always postpone training.
Let them weigh and amuse you with their absurdity.
Set aside time in your schedule
There is always a ton of things to do. Schedule your workout, otherwise, other tasks will take up your free time and workout will remain at the end of your priority list.
