In light of the pandemic, I have thought a lot about the basics of fitness. It turns out there is no shortage of reminders about the basics when you look for them. Last month I wrote an article about the basics of fitness being simple, boring, but effective. With the start of the new year, many people have likely considered fitness when making their resolutions. Making the decision is a great first step. Before spending a lot of money on the next big fitness fad, or paying for a fitness center membership, the next thing people should do is build a foundation of knowledge. Then they should take simple steps that help build a habit of fitness. A fun way to light-heartedly learn some basics about fitness, and improving your health, can be learned from a cub scouts' adventure. That’s right, even before entering scouts the younger group is building a foundation for health and fitness success and you can too. If you are home with your family it can be a fun way to engage your children as well. The process is easy, takes six simple steps, and is something you can do today that your future self will thank you for!
