Initially, the Professors conducted this research on rats with liver damage caused by galactosamine, a powerful liver toxin.
Then, they tested 22 fruits to see which would make the most difference.
It so happened that avocados showed the most potent activity among these fruits in slowing down liver damage, according to the lead professors at Shizuoka University in Shizuoka, Japan.
