Not Just for Breakfast: The Case for Cereal at 4 PM
Eating cereal at work just before I finish might not be as weird as it sounds.
Every day at work, I eat a bowl of cereal. Not for breakfast, not as a mid-day snack or treat, but for my pre-workout meal.
You’re probably imagining Fruit Loops or Cornflakes, not squats and deadlifts.
I finish work at 5, so at around 4–4.30 p.m., it's time for my cereal.
I tell you what, it’s a bit of a conversation starter in the lunchroom.
Is that cereal?
And yeah, I get it. Cereal that late in the day might seem quite strange.
But this daily ritual of mine? I think it works.
Before you roll your eyes, let me explain why.
I Don’t Eat Until Midday
Let’s start with a bit of context.
I don’t eat breakfast. I haven’t for a long time.
