How many times have you missed a workout because you were too tired, or stressed, or was just unmotivated to go to the gym?

If I had a dollar for every inane excuse I have ever made to skip a workout my net worth would increase by at least a few thousand dollars. We will all be fat unmotivated zombies if someone paid us to be lazy.

It is no secret that exercise is the key to a happy and healthy life. And yet we make so many lame excuses to not workout. We are giving up our health, which is our greatest wealth just to sit on the couch and watch Netflix.

But how responsible are we for this disastrous behavior? Turns out not so much.

We Are Hardwired For Laziness

A study in 2018 investigated the avoidance tendencies of 29 young adults who were hell-bent on increasing their physical activity. They were shown a bunch of pictures on a screen, and their task was to move the cursor from inactive images to the active images and vice versa.
