Hello, Penny Pub Writers!

Surprise! Because there are five Mondays in July, I decided to do a surprise prompt for the last week of the month. I will still accept submissions for the original 3rd Monday prompt, which you can find here.

If you’re a new writer, please pay close attention to the guideline reminders below. Our pub’s homepage now has a thorough formatting guide (with screenshots) to help you.

Please be aware that we don’t often edit in the evenings and are much slower to pick up submissions over the weekend. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Current Prompt (# 19)

Election season is upon us, and things are heating up! Please tell us what things you consider when choosing which candidate you will vote for (be it a presidential election or a state/local election).

We aren’t looking for political rants but rather thoughtful dialogue about what is important to you when picking the candidate you will vote for. Are women’s rights at the top of your list? Do you value a candidate’s position on LGBTQ+ issues
