A Poem

Hello.
You are old now.
Now I see
You were never
a child.
Not with me.

I was young.
You built a home
for me to leave.
You were never
a child,
Now I see.

You lived it all
When I was wild.
you built it all,
I am the child.

I am sorry,
child
I crossed you,
Young and stupid
so I thought.
I didn’t know
I am the one
That spoiled it…
spoiled it all.

I left my heart
Cold at home
You are old now,
Child,
I see you now.

Apologies,
Child
I never saw you
I am sorry love
I am home now.

we are one
I know I am young.
Too young to know
that we are one.

Child,
Can you be
Young again,
and free?

One more time,
For old times sake.
Just for you,
And not for me…
