GENERAL GUIDELINES

In Libris Iuris covers non-fiction books. Specific areas include law, history, political science, current affairs, biography, journalism, and science.

Due to the volume of submissions we receive, In Libris Iuris cannot review every book submitted. We decide which books to review 1) by referring to the submission guidelines below, and 2) by attempting to predict which books will generate the most interest among our readers.

In Libris Iuris maintains a “publisher neutral” policy with respect to review submissions. That means we place books released by small and independent publishing houses on the same footing as major publishers. We select books for review based on the book, not the publisher.

In Libris Iuris reviews both pre-publication (but already contracted) books and books that have already been published. Books should be in finished or galley form (hard copy) at least 2–4 months before publication date. In exceptional circumstances, we will accept Kindle versions of books for review.

As soon as a book is reviewed we notify the publisher of the review publication date.

In Libris Iuris does not review books in the categories listed on this page. Submissions to the editor in the categories listed below will be discarded:

— reprints,
— mass-market titles,
— self-published titles,
— print-on-demand titles,
— textbooks,
— reference books,
— instruction manuals, or
— screenplays or other types of dramatic scripts.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR TITLES FOR REVIEW

You must include certain standard information with your submission:

— price,
— publication date (the more exact, the better),
— ISBN,
— page count,
— information about distribution channels (for example, only available through publishers web site), etc.,

as well as a brief description of the book and some particulars about the author. If your book is reviewed, we ask that you provide us with a copy of the published version of the book.
