When you have house guests you feel like shopping. You want the best for your friends and family.
I have had guests twice this month. We have a lot of people from overseas during spring as there are weddings and exhibitions galore.
I usually ask my friends and family about their choices of food. This time they told me that they had heard about Jaggery and sweets made out of it. Jaggery is quite a favorite in India and a lot of sweets are made out of it.
Jaggery cut in squares with peanuts is called gur ki patti in Hindi and tastes wonderful. Once you start eating it you just cannot leave it till you finish the whole thing.
It is like an organic Indian sweet akin to a bar of chocolate. It is indeed famous and when people come from overseas love it.
I bought two or three kinds of Jaggery sweets. Jaggery with peanuts. Jaggery with sesame seeds and jaggary can also be used to put in curd Indian Yogurt. It is extremely tasty.
So first I bought Jaggery and various sweets.
