The first time I moved to live in Victoria, my friends were raving about Tofino. It is a town of less than 3000 residents jumping with tourists from around the world. I’ve been intrigued by it being so new in the area then. But it wasn’t until June 2021 when after a rigorous week following the protest at Fairy Creek, where I sought respite on its shores and dense rainforests. Why Tofino, you might ask? There’s so much to love about the place and my adventures included a hike to the WWII airplane crash sight and ocean kayaking to reach one of the most lush jungles I have been since living here on the island. If you want a day to just relax and an escape from work, Tofino is a charming destination.

But first, the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. The Pacific Rim offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and ecological diversity. Stretching approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) along the west coast of Vancouver Island in Canada. It boasts a rugged and diverse coastline, featuring sandy beaches, rocky headlands, and tidal pools. It’s a mesmerizing destination for nature enthusiasts and explorers alike
