No, we don’t raise hens but we are happy to add delicious fried chicken and nutritious hen eggs to our diet. One of the best dishes to order in Malaysia and Singapore is nasi lemak. It includes a fried egg, fried chicken, fried anchovies, and a spicy sambal sauce on a bed of rice cooked in coconut milk. A dash of spicy sambal sauce makes it complete. Even the thought of it makes me happy and hungry.

One of our first stops in Singapore and Malaysia is the hawker stalls where we can order nasi lemak for breakfast, lunch, or late-night dinner. Hawker stalls may be permanently located in hawker centers or they may be portable stalls that show up in the evening.
