Spring has finally made an appearance where I live in the northern parts of the U.S.

I’ve been seeing blooms from Krasi and some other Medium friends for months, but the real proof that spring has reached my neighborhood is the blooming tulips, daffodils, and crabapple trees.

There is a crabapple tree in my yard that lights up two weeks of my life, and then just like that, the blooms have fallen and strayed to the green floor.

Folks here in the States, especially those living where we see significant seasonal change, seem to be obsessed with fall. The anticipation of Halloween excites me too and I love getting cozy, but it doesn’t compete with spring.

The sun is up after 5 a.m. and I have a new bounce in my step as I let the dog out and take my coffee on the back deck. Observing the new blooms from Jacob’s Ladder and Bleeding Heart in my yard, finding ducks strolling through the yard looking for the perfect nesting spot, and the breezy scent alone draws me…
