In 2018, my life was shaken when my husband had an Ictus (stroke), and through that difficult time, I found solace in storytelling. Writing ghost stories became my way of processing the fear, uncertainty, and emotions I was experiencing. It allowed me to give voice to the unconscious parts of myself that words often failed to reach. The only thing was that I wasn’t fully aware of all its power and benefits.

Reading and listening to people’s reactions to my rushed and little polished stories and recalling the feeling I got while writing them, I decided to replicate this exercise in December, Easter, and before Saint John’s Night, another magical night very much celebrated here in Spain.

Despite how wonderful this cathartic experience was, I never really replicated it again and I’ve been missing it like mad. This is probably due to some Animus issues that I’m still working on with my analyst.

Still, those stories have been revisited, some rewritten and even used in a horror stories group reading for the last three years.
