WeChat (Chinese: 微信) is a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tecent in China. It is the largest standalone-messaging app by monthly active users. This app is available on Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Symbian phones. Until Augest 2014, WeChat has 438 million active users, with 70 million outside of China.

WeChat has some similarities with What’s app, but it also has some own characteristics. It provides text messaging, hold-to-talk voice messaging, broadcast (one-to-many) messaging, sharing of photographs and videos, and location sharing. It can exchange contacts with people nearby via Bluetooth, as well as providing various features for contacting people at random of desired. Photographs may also be embellished with filters and captions, and a machine translation service is available.

To summarize, WeChat is not only a messaging communication platform but also have many other functions. More and more companies pay attention to do WeChat marketing. I have 5 secrets of how to increase the effectiveness of WeChat marketing wan to share with you.

For example, a company had an activity that called “Collect likes and win prize”. WeChat has another useful function called “Location”. If you open this function you can find the people nearby you, say hi to them and add friends with them. For the general users, it is a good function for them to make friends has the similar background and in the same place. But for the companies, it is a useful function that can target the customers more accurately. The official account can use this function to find different customers nearby them and add them. In the same time, the customers will find the official account much easier. For example, the company wants to get more fans that are young people between 18–25 years old. They can use these functions to find the young people nearby and ask an invitation to them.
