In parallel with ongoing corporate business development effort we’ve been on the hunt for the right online partner with whom we can develop and roll-out Incent in an eCommerce environment. Today that search came to successful pause when we agreed on a development and pilot program with John Warner, Founder and Managing Director of UK based landscaping wholesaler, Sure Green.

Sure Green are a great fit for Incent for lots of reasons. From a technical perspective they are currently moving their online operation onto Magento’s M2E, which will give us an excuse to build a Magento plug-in. But perhaps more importantly is where Sure Green have come from, how quickly they have grown and the extent of their ambition.

As their owner explained to me, Sure Green’s business plan ‘isn’t the work of an Arch Bishop’; they fabricate in China, ship to UK and sell online. But they must be doing something right because after just 3 years annual revenue is well into 7 figures and their growth plan is simple: they’re giving themselves another 3 years to treble it. That’s ambition right there. Love it!

Sure Green currently sell to retail customers through Ebay and Amazon (grimacing as both clip their ticket to the tune of around 18% per sale) and through their own website for pick-up or delivery. John has identified that it’s his own website’s trade customers that are key to Sure Green’s growth strategy. They are the biggest spenders and if their repeat custom can be secured, its game-on!

And this is where Incent comes in…

John is happy to knock what he pays to Amazon/Ebay back to trade accounts in Incent, as an enticement to return. His margin can handle it and he knows that as ‘cash’ businessmen, they will implicitly understand and value the nature of this ‘cash’ reward, which will give them a huge edge on their competitors. John also likes the fact that he’ll be able to push market products and offers to them straight into their handsets — which they can then order on the fly for pickup or delivery. And it’s as simple as that really — Incent will provide Sure Green with a trading edge.
