Where I belong

I belong to the forest with a life so pure and true.
Howling with the wolves,
begging nothing destructive come through.

Answer with a whisper of a small and fragile voice,
“I must stay down here my mountains”
.. I honestly have no choice.

See, I am from this place.
It rings of woe and sighs.
Invisible shackles say you’re powerless,
but “to try, if you’d like.”

It cannot be the intention, to devour and empty souls.
But pieces wither slowly when we purposely poke cruel holes.
If you look like that, and act a bit more like this
The path set at your feet when followed,
leads to everything you wish.

- Bury those thoughts deep, it’s not about being happy.
What your worth is how they feel,
And the details spell out greedy.
I’m not sure why it came to this
if languid lives are what we wanted
but maybe that’s how we live in this place,
we just ignore it’s haunted?

This sweet escape I need, there’s a secret in the solitude
without I fear, where I reside, could carve me hallow too.
Society, don’t make me be like you.
There’s more I want to see
where there’s beauty in everything,
you insist can’t be achieved.
