Introduction

Where to go this Monsoon? We always have this question in every monsoon and I can say Madhe Ghat is the best go-to point to enjoy Monsoon near Pune. I am feeling guilty by writing this blog as it will not be a secret now 😁. Frankly speaking, I’m, thrilled to share our mesmerizing experience of this hidden gem nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range of Maharashtra. Join us as we unravel the secrets and wonders of Madhe Ghat.

Madhe Ghat is located around 70 km from Pune bordering the Raigad district and in the vicinity of Torna Fort, Rajgad, Raigad Fort, and the backwaters of the Bhatghar dam. The name of this waterfall is Laxmi Waterfall. It is about 850 meters above sea level and situated in dense forests behind Torna Fort. From this place, you can have a view of the vast areas such as Raigad Fort, Lingana, Varandha Ghat, and Shivthar Ghal. In history, when the warrior Tanaji Malusare died in the Sinhagad battle, his body was to be taken for last rites in his native village Umrath near Poladpur. Tanaji Malusare’s funeral procession was taken to his native place from this Madhe Ghat route.

Breathtaking Journey from Ghats

To reach Madhe Ghat, we embarked on a thrilling road trip that took us through winding roads and lush green landscapes on our Motorbike Himalayan. It was my brother(Ashish Tripathi)’s idea to visit Madhe Ghat. The journey itself was an adventure, as we navigated the hairpin bends and curved paths, feeling the excitement building with each turn. The drive up the ghat was like a rollercoaster ride, with picturesque vistas unfolding at every corner.

Riding in the ghats during the monsoon is an unforgettable experience. The lush greenery, the sound of the rain, and the variety of wildlife make for a truly magical journey.

On the way to Madhe Ghat, we saw lots of crabs, and trust me some of them were crazy aggressive as you can see in our YouTube vlog.

Feel the journey, not the destination

We liked the journey so much that we took many stops in between to reach there, to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding. We sat there in calm, peace as no one was around there. Took some beautiful pictures and videos. It was totally worth it. If you also want to enjoy the stops then do take some stops around Pabe Ghat.

Hiking Trails and Trekking Delights

Madhe Ghat is a paradise for adventure enthusiasts and hikers alike. Numerous hiking trails meander through the ghat, leading us deeper into the heart of nature. We embraced the challenge of trekking to the pinnacle of the ghat, rewarded with breathtaking vistas as we reached the summit. The verdant landscapes and the melodious symphony of birdsong made each step a joyous experience.

Waterfalls of Tranquility

One of the highlights of Madhe Ghat is its enchanting waterfalls that dot the region. These cascades of crystal-clear water tumbling down moss-covered rocks create a tranquil ambiance that soothes the soul. We couldn’t resist taking a refreshing dip in the natural pools formed by the waterfalls, immersing ourselves in the beauty of this pristine setting.

Conclusion

If you are around Pune, plan a road trip to Madhe Ghat and take as many stops as you can on the way to Madhe Ghat. Do remember, keep the area clean, don’t litter waste around, and embrace the beauty of nature. Last but not least, do check out our YouTube channel Vish and Trip
