Governance Developments, ETHDenver, and Emoji Contest
--
Throughout the month of February, the core development team at Increment concentrated its efforts on building protocol governance. As zkSync Era public mainnet approaches, these governance headways lay a crucial foundation for the Increment protocol and community.
Governance Developments
We achieved three key milestones on the governance front in February:
- The initial token creation and distribution proposal passed with 82 voters in total and 98% voting in favour
- After reaching consensus on the governance token and distribution, the community successfully completed a community bounty event to help establish a fairer token distribution for the community
- Token and governance smart contracts are currently in development and will launch in the next month or two
One other important development is that we have established a logo to represent Increment governance and the token, can you spot the difference between this mark and the original Increment protocol mark?
Yup, you got it! The main difference is that in the center of it all, the 4 pillars do not meet to form an “X”, actually they do not necessarily meet at all. The angles of the pillars point to the middle which symbolizes the community coming together to establish Increment governance, a bit cheesy I know.
ETHDenver
ETHDenver is usually the first major crypto conference of the year and it was filled with buzz. There were booths from all the top projects in the space, including the likes of zkSync, Arbitrum, Optimism, Uniswap, Aave, Lens, and much more! Over 15,000 people attended the event from 115 countries.
We also had a chance to connect with the Matter Labs team and it was great to get to know some of the people we usually chat with online but finally meet them offline.
Emoji Contest
Last but not least, we started our Emoji & Stickers Contest 2.0 where you can create your own unique Increment themed stickers and/or emojis, and have a chance to earn some POAPs.
Here are some pretty neat ones that we’ve seen so far! Contest ends on March 22nd.
