We’ve all had those moments when we vent on Facebook. Back in 2010, I was a single mother, working very hard and just trying to get by. What happened in February, I’ll never forget. And I have a Facebook friend to thank for making me get the medical treatment that could possibly have saved my life.

For the past 12 years I have wondered who it was that day who made me go to the hospital. I remembered posting, saying I was having the worst sharp pains in my head. I had driven home from work that day after telling my boss something is very wrong with me. I told her I needed to go to the hospital. Aside from asking me if I was sure and when I’d be back to work, my boss showed little care that day. She should have called an ambulance. Instead, I drove one hour on the interstate to take me home to my kids. I kept thinking I had to get dinner done for them.

The pains came so hard it took my breath and forced hot, heavy tears from my eyes. I couldn’t breathe through the pain. It was just too bad. I prayed my way home. I really don’t know how I made it.

When I got home the boys were playing video games. Being kids, I guess. I told them I put the meat on the counter to thaw and I needed to take myself to the emergency room, and that I’d be back later to cook…
