The Brillboard. Fresh off the press. Come get it.

Friends [Matt Millz]
Friends is what would happen if you took the best parts of an Alt-J soundscape and funneled it into the opening of a song, and then you followed that opening up with the raw vocals of a pretty gifted singer-songwriter. Matt Millz shines in his latest, rhythmically beautiful single.

Irene. [Ben Zaidi]
I like that Irene. has a period at the end of it, because it’s complete and completely perfect. Soft piano chords and an interlude of sax play out Irene’s life, on a bed of lyrics so solemn and wholehearted that they leave you silently digesting the beauty that Ben Zaidi just gave you.

Brook Revisited [Adam Melchor]
The folkiest indelicious has covered and we are loving it. Apparently Adam Melchor was on the Voice? With a voice like his, we’re not surprised.

Nice [RYE]
One of our more highly-anticipated singles for early 2017. While RYE’s first two singles were brilliant bursts of indie-pop, Nice is more of a slowburning glow. The single is a nice change of pace for RYE, adding depth to her artistry and further landing her with Broods and GLADES, in that kind of sound that we know and love.

Supernova [Marcus Alexander]
Ed Sheeran and Alex Turner had a voice-child and his name is Marcus Alexander.

New Penzance [Jake Mirador]
It’s rare that songs longer than five minutes can keep me for their entirety. Jake Mirador’s New Penzance is nearly seven minutes — the last four of which are a straight-up jam sesh of orchestral awesomeness — and let’s just say I could easily go for another seventeen.

Cold Without You [Grace Pitts]
The production quality on this Grace Pitt’s Cold Without You is un. real.

Weekend Walking [birthday]
A strong synth game and some falsetto on the chorus makes this chill electropop the perfect track for walking on the weekends, or doing literally anything, any day. birthday’s latest track came out a few days after my birthday, and I’m counting it among my presents.

On My Way [Daniel Feels, Robert Gillies]
On My Way airs strongly on the -tronic side of indietronic, but it’s great and it’s going on the Brillboard.

take me on [joan]
The first 30 seconds alone make take me on a genre-bending listening experience. joan’s debut single opens with 80’s sparkles and a dramatic sigh. You think you’re going to get Take On Me, but then joan takes on Michl-quality vocals, and take me on becomes all the more interesting.
