São Paulo — Traverse Town // Review

At indelicious we love discovering emerging, local bands, so when we heard Traverse Town and their new EP Fantasy, I was stoked to write a review of the first track: São Paulo.
What I like about this track:
The intro is ~everything~ echoing across the song until the end when it comes back in full force — like catchy, electronic bookends. I guarantee you’ll find yourself humming the melody later in the day.
The song then takes you on a lyrical journey (expected with a song so aptly named). My favorite lyrics reference the title:
I’ll travel fast and far from Israel to Kilimanjaro // I counted every stop from Cape Verde to São Paulo // And if I put up for today what I could do tomorrow // I couldn’t find the time to finally make you mine.
Artist Pic
TRAVERSE TOWN // Based in Massachusetts, Traverse Town has a unique sound, at times reminiscent of The Temper Trap (and not just because of the alliteration). Their website is super ~trippy~ mirroring the meaning behind the EP title. They’ve got a lot of potential. Hopefully we’ll see some live dates soon!
If you liked this…
Traverse Town has a unique blend of influences (if you look on their Facebook, it basically lists every genre: Rock, Alternative, Indie, Jazz, Electronic.)
Thus there are a wide variety of artists you might like as well: Kid Runner (perhaps a little more pop-y), The Wild Wild (perhaps a little more 80's), or Afrakite (perhaps a little more alternative).
Illuminate — Kid Runner
Alright — The Wild Wild
Carry Us — Afrakite
