We build fictional worlds to weave stories in, but the worlds we create also tend to have an abundance of stories of their own. From books, rumors, poems, and songs to alien signals, hoaxes, legends, and myths, the new Lore page on Notebook.ai helps you flesh out the world within your world: what stories get passed down from generation to generation, where they came from, what parts are true and what gets exaggerated over time, and more.

Lore pages are a Premium page, but are available for all users to create until April 21st. Like all other Premium pages, you’ll still have access to your already-created pages after then; but only Premium users will be able to create additional Lore pages.

Example of the “Culture” category fields when creating a new Lore.

When you create a Lore page, you’ll be asked questions about how your lore originated, how it’s re-told from person to person, what variations exist, how the lore has impacted culture over time, and more. As with all other worldbuilding pages on Notebook.ai, the notebook will track what you’ve already answered and ask you bite-sized questions in the form of prompts to get answers to everything else, letting you fill out your pages little by little, any time you’ve got a spare second.

A prompt asking about symbolism used in a Lore page.

Like all other Notebook.ai pages, the lores you create are private by default and only visible to you — but able to be shared with others with the flick of a switch. You can also upload reference images, customize the categories and fields that appear on all of your lore pages, and add them to the universe they belong to in order to keep your notebook tidy and distraction-free while you build amazing worlds.

You can turn on Lore pages by clicking “Add more…” under “Worldbuilding” in the site sidebar, or by clicking here.

Happy worldbuilding!
