Create your own schools, sports, and food in Notebook.ai

Summer is here, and with it comes three new Premium pages available to Notebook.ai worldbuilders:

Create schools (free this month!)

The most-requested type of page (that we haven’t added yet) has overwhelmingly been schools.

Whether it’s Hogwarts, Walkerville, or Brakebills, schools educate and shape every new generation in our worlds. You can now create schools for your worlds in Notebook.ai and detail classes, teachers, students, and more.

To celebrate the release of these new pages, Schools are being unlocked for all users during the entire month of June. Schools you create this month will be yours to view and edit forever, just like any other Premium page.

Happy worldbuilding!

Create sports

What better to accompany your new school than to create a few sports unique to your world? Quidditch, Calvinball, and Flonkerton enhanced the worlds they exist in to make them feel just a little more real.

Creating a sport in Notebook.ai asks you questions about setup, the rules, how to play & win, the history of the game, and more.

Create food

Last, but certainly not least, are the new food pages.

Create and track the food unique to your world by creating pages for each; creating a recipe needs ingredients, preparation, and cooking instructions. You’ll also be asked to describe that delicious finished product, and more info on its nutrients and (gasp!) potential side-effects.

As always, each of these page types are completely customizable (even down to the icons used in every category of questions!) so you can shape your smart notebook around your world — not the other way around. Simply click “Customize template” on any of your pages to get started.

And of course, if you have any other suggestions for new page types in Notebook.ai, I’d love to hear them!

You can turn on the new page types by clicking “Add more…” under Worldbuilding in the sidebar, or by clicking here.

Other improvements around the site

Besides a host of small bug fixes and page speed improvements, you’ll also notice a few new quality-of-life improvements around the site:

  • Author profile pages got a big redesign to better showcase recent worldbuilding activity, while also highlighting which pages are public versus private (don’t forget — all pages are entirely private by default on Notebook.ai!)
  • @-mentions in documents and worldbuilding pages have been improved to work on phones and tablets, and can now also mention universes (which were missing on release, oops!), as well as the new school, sports, and food pages.
  • When creating multiple pages in a row (as we all do when we get a burst of inspiration), there’s now a handy “create another” link after saving a new page.

Final thoughts

Thank you all for being on this journey with me together. I originally built Notebook.ai to track my own worlds and I’m constantly amazed at how far the product (and community around it!) has evolved over the years.

Thank you for your support, and happy worldbuilding! :)
