It’s a strong habit to always want to be in charge. It makes us feel safe, at peace, and happy, but only on the surface.

Underneath the effect we want to get from trying to control is the real reason we are doing it… we are unhappy.

The need for control will always be stronger than any satisfaction that comes from keeping it.

It’s a losing battle, because when you get control over something, you also want to keep it.

When we lose control, we lose the happiness and peace of mind we had found.

Instead, we experience more trouble because we have lost it.

When we lose control, we need to try to gain control over more things around us.

Never-Ending And Cyclical

By trying to control something, you’re coming from a place that’s never-ending and cyclical, and you’re only making yourself more unhappy.

This cycle tends to make the need worse because it leads to more behaviour that feeds the need.

Most people feel like they need to control more in their lives than they can, which makes them feel more disappointed, disillusioned, and deeply…
