Have you noticed that the most successful business owners think outside the box? They don’t follow the rules.
To learn how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, I need to talk about two things: what it means to be an entrepreneur and what it means to think outside the box.
Are You Boxed In?
This box kills dreams. It’s an entrepreneur crusher.
So, from where did this box come? And how did we get in it? Well, here’s what I think this box is.
It begins when you are young. People send you to school so you can learn.
Don’t get me wrong, I think education is important. But one of the problems with school is that they start to put you in a box.
They tell you to get a good education so you can get a good paying job and then, after 20 or 30 years, you can retire and start living in luxury.
This is how you get ahead in life.
So, we think in boxes all through Elementary, Middle, and High School.
We still have the box mentality when we go to college, right? So what do you do after college?
We just walk right in and get a job.
