Hi Digital and Scamwise: The partnerships making a difference
We’ve teamed up with Vodafone and Nationwide to help older people get more confident online and be safe from scams.
New module coming to Hi Digital
Independent Age is working with Vodafone UK Foundation to help older people become digitally engaged. Being confident online means you can reduce your costs by using comparison websites, find activities in your community and connect with friends.
Hi Digital has a series of courses available to teach you, step by step, how to do things online. A new course will be released on Hi Digital in spring.
If you want to develop your skills and get confident online — or help someone you know — Hi Digital is a great place to start. Just visit their website.
How to spot a scam
It seems there are so many news stories now about people being scammed out of their money. Scammers have many ways to swindle people out of their savings, from sending a text message pretending to be a loved one asking for money, to calling you about investment opportunities that seem too good to be true.
We’ve partnered with Nationwide Building Society to provide more support to their members aged 65+. Nationwide’s own data shows that people over 65 are the group likely to lose the most money through a scam.
Protect yourself or someone you know by reading our Scamwise guide, which tells you what to look out for.
