As we approach the end of the year, we reflected on some of our highlights and what we’re looking forward to in 2022.

After a busy few months, the North East team is happy to have seen some real progress using the new community service model. This includes completing the transition training with existing volunteers, making new assessments with older people, and awarding trainer status to the Volunteer Coordinators.

The coordinators are now in the process of rolling out manual handling and moving training. This has been an important step in creating a practical and innovative service that gives older people and volunteers much more freedom to access their local community and achieve their goals.

Keep a lookout for information on upcoming training dates in your area.

Going into the new year, we are looking forward to continuing to support older people through our amazing volunteers. We have lots of ideas to enhance and grow the service we offer and are continuing our pledge to offer a person-centred experience.
