Could you be an Information Champion in your local community?

Information helps older people to live well and get the most out of later life.
Our new role of Information Champion is helping to spread the word in local communities about Independent Age and our advice services — by distributing our award-winning information guides in libraries and GP surgeries and by attending local events armed with our information resources.

Rod recently joined us as an Information Champion. He likes being out and about in his community, regularly chatting with people and learning a little from everyone he meets. He already has several talks planned at local libraries and a local retired men’s club to let people know about us and give our guides to anyone who might find them useful. We can’t wait to see how his role develops.

If you’re interested in becoming an Information Champion, we’d love to hear from you. It’s a flexible volunteering role and you can commit as much or as little time as you want, on days and times that work best for you. We will provide you with resources, help you to order our information guides and keep in touch regularly to support you.

Find out how to apply here. You can also call our Volunteering team on 020 7605 4255 or email volunteering@independentage.org to chat about the opportunity.
