The Real Reason Behind Sridevi’s Death Revealed
This Is What Most Likely Happened To The Queen Of Bollywood
I will start by repeating this from Part -2:
There is no police report, no official investigation report, no autopsy report, and no toxicology report that gives any information on how Sridevi died. If these reports exist, they have not been made public.
In this final part, we discuss the popular theories and speculations on the suspicious death of Sridevi in 2018.
We will end with my take on what most likely happened to Sridevi in her Presidential Suite at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai.

The 240 Crore Life Insurance Policy
According to filmmaker Sunil Singh, Sridevi’s death was a murder. He entered a plea in the Supreme Court demanding a probe into her death.
Sunil Singh’s lawyer claimed an insurance policy worth Rs.240 crore ($35 million) existed in Sridevi’s name in Oman. A clause in the policy stated the money is claimable only if the actress died in Dubai.
The Supreme Court rejected Sunil Singh’s plea, saying authorities in the UAE have already investigated the matter.
Interestingly, it’s been four years since Sridevi died, and no one, either from Sridevi’s family or anyone from her close friends circle, has ever refuted the existence of the Rs. 240 crore policy.
Boney Kapoor’s Financial Crisis
According to an article in the 2018 April edition of the Australian Women’s Weekly, Sridevi’s family was going through a financial crisis.
Boney Kapoor’s movies were already not doing well. He lost a lot of money with Kyun Hogaya Na in 2004.
But Salman Khan came to his rescue in 2005.
His last big hit was with Salman Khan in 2009(Wanted), and before that in 2005, again with Salman Khan(No Entry). Having Salman Khan in a movie automatically guarantees box office success.
But something happened post-2010 that created a rift between these two. Boney Kapoor’s son, actor Arjun Kapoor, got into an affair with Salman Khan’s SIL(wife of his younger brother Arbaaz Khan), Malaika Arora Khan, who was 15 years older than him.
According to media reports, Salman warned Boney Kapoor to keep his son away from Malaika because it would destroy his brother’s marriage.
Boney advised Arjun to stay away from Malaika, and it worked for some time, but Arjun and Malaika realized they were hopelessly in love. They commenced their affair again, which ultimately ended with Malaika divorcing Arbaaz.
Today Malaika and Arjun are in a serious relationship and plan to marry soon.
But there are consequences to getting on the wrong side of the Bhai of Bollywood. Salman abandoned Boney, Arjun’s career is going nowhere even today, and Boney had to start selling his properties to make ends meet. It’s no surprise that Boney is making more movies in South India today because Bollywood tends to avoid people who have a problem with Salman.
There are speculations that Boney orchestrated the murder of his wife in Dubai to dig himself and his family out of a severe financial crisis.
Role of Dawood Ibrahim in Sridevi’s Death
Ved Bhushan, a retired ACP of Delhi Police, claimed Dawood Ibrahim might have a role to play in Sridevi’s death. He alleged Dawood had a strong foothold in Dubai and owned many hotels there.
Why would Dawood Ibrahim kill Sridevi for no apparent reason? It’s a different thing he might have, for Boney, in return for a share in the Rs.240 crore.
Finally — What (Might’ve) Happened To Sridevi in Dubai
The picture below was the last social media post by Sridevi on Instagram on 22 Feb 2018:
We can safely assume Sridevi was alive on 22 Feb 2018(until at least when she posted this pic), unless someone else posted this picture from her phone/computer.
But how do we know Sridevi was alive on 23 Feb 2018 and 24 Feb 2018?
The Truth is: we don’t.
Dubai is full of South Asians — Bollywood is famous, and everyone knows Sridevi.
If Sridevi had stepped outside her hotel on the 23rd and 24th of Feb — people would’ve seen her, recognized her, and would’ve clicked selfies or taken autographs. She was a celebrity — people would notice, talk, and make video clips on their phones even if she had visited a mall or a restaurant.
Yet, no one came forward saying they saw Sridevi at such and such place on 23 or 24 Feb.
Sridevi did not leave her hotel, but did she leave her hotel room? Is there any evidence she left her hotel room those two days? It’s a 5-star hotel, CCTV cameras are everywhere.
Maybe she was tired from the wedding and decided to rest in her room. She did not leave her hotel, and she did not leave her hotel room.
What about eating? She must’ve ordered food via room service if she did not eat out.
So, what did she order, when did she order? And did any of the hotel staff see her alive while delivering the food?
I said it in the first part — one must commend the authorities and officials in the UAE for not leaking any information on Sridevi, and the same applies to the staff and management of Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai.
The hotel did not leak a single piece of information to support or refute Boney Kapoor’s version of events on 24 Feb 2018. A small CCTV footage of Boney Kapoor entering Sridevi’s hotel room at 5:30 pm on 24 Feb would’ve at least proven he was right about that.
But no, we don’t even know if this small bit of information is true or false.
Boney Kapoor says he was the last person to see Sridevi alive on 24 Feb 2021 before she went to the bathroom at 7:30 pm.
I don’t believe him.
I would like to know who was the last person to see Sridevi alive before Boney Kapoor says he saw her on 24 Feb.
In all probability, Sridevi was already dead on 22 or 23 Feb. She had died of a drug overdose, and her body lay in the hotel room for at least one whole day before the hotel staff realized she had not left her room or ordered food.
The hotel staff then called to inform Boney and entered her room to find her dead.
Then they waited till Boney arrived to plan the next course of action.
I don’t think Boney murdered his wife.
Then why hide the reality if he did nothing?
Why Did The Kapoor’s, Bollywood, UAE Authorities, and Hotel Staff Not Tell the Truth About Sridevi’s Death?
Sridevi’s one-day-old dead body was found in the hotel room of a foreign country after she died from a suspected drug overdose.
Is this a befitting end to the legacy of the Queen of Bollywood?
Certainly not. It’s a tragic and sad ending.
They lied to protect her legacy, not a murder(er).
These headlines in India would’ve destroyed all the fame and respect Sridevi accumulated in her almost 4-decade long career. Her family was afraid people would remember her as a druggy doing drugs in a hotel room.
Her daughter’s first movie was to release in a few months — who knows how the Indian public might react to her? Accept her or boycott her?
People would judge her, and her family — upholding a clean image is crucial in Indian culture to gain the respect and admiration of people.
Bollywood especially is very protective of its image. The industry is at its lowest phase right now, with allegations of rampant drug abuse leveled at Bollywood stars.
Many Bollywood stars were recently questioned by the Narcotics Bureau for their involvement in the procuring and consuming of illegal drugs.
It’s being called the industry of drug addicts by many on social media. Sentiment against Bollywood is at an all-time high.
Imagine if drug overdose was declared as Sridevi’s cause of death.
They knew they had to stop this news from being leaked out to the public at all costs.
And that’s why they lied.
