The cornered lion bounces back with vengeance. Under pressure after a huge defeat in the first match, team India was written off. A white wash was predicted. All those concerns have been put at bay with this victory by 75 runs.

The foundation was laid by Pujara and Rahane on the 3rd day when Australia could not take a single wicket in the last session.Rahul has been contributing well with the bat, but not converting the starts into hundreds. With 126 runs lead and into the day 4, the first hour and session was very crucial for both teams. While India took care of the first hour, the Aussies made merry in the first session by wiping off the tail. Ishant sharma showed some resistance until he got out for 6 runs, more importantly 28 deliveries.

187 on board and 4 sessions is not a big task. The Aussie openers came in and started hitting the ball across park and India was guilty for leaking runs. Ishant Sharma gave a break through in the 4th over claiming Renshaw. Day 4 on such a track, Ashwin tasted blood by trapping Warner plumb in front of wicket. Umesh Yadav broke the backbone of Aussie Middle order by dismissing Smith and Marsh.

Sir Jadeja was perfect partner in crime by giving a vital support from the other end. He gave the dose of his own medicine to O’ Keefe and bowled him with a straighter delivery.

It was clearly Ashwin’s day. Right after claiming David Warner, he knew that it’s his day. He ran through the middle order and wiped of the tail by taking last two wickets. With his 6 wickets haul, India clawed back to glory and this victory is undoubtedly due to character shown by Indian bowlers.

The series is wide open. Both the teams have smelt blood. It is going to be cracker of a series with 2 matches to go.
