“Never before in the cultural history of the world such a phenomenon has happened where almost all the cultural stalwarts of film-industry have come forward alongside the contemporary authors in order to promote a language”

Since pre-independence days Hindi kept losing it’s shine.. although the third largest spoken language in the world, and despite it’s massive 600million followers — English language in India has risen as the primary language of higher and tech-education.

English is the status symbol in India. Even though only 100 million people speak English language in India, it is more aspirational amongst masses. Although, they are unable to speak the language, the image-conscious people are not happy seen with vernacular language books.. or seen speaking Hindi(it’s for villagers) or Punjabi (Pendu) or Marathi (Ghati).. and so forth..

It took an army to change all that — it has taken one man army!

“I had no idea, this project would become so massive”, beams Manish, well, I shouldn’t be surprised — something historic has happened. So many popular theater and film-personalities have come together to be part of this project as they all are in love with Hindi literature. Almost all the big contemporary poets are part of this project too.
