My Indian friend Sanju who is a 22-year-old Indian girl has been particularly happy recently because her parents told her that they have found two perfect guys for her to marry. Actually, her parents have already found two probable men for her. She showed me the photos of these two guys, and I have to admit that both of them are cute. I thought those two guys are friends of Sanju’s, but she told me that she knew nothing about them. I was shocked by this.

“How can you marry someone you don’t even know?” I asked her like that.

“That’s fine. I have to marry someone no matter what, I don’t care about who he is.” Sanju said so.

In Sanju’s opinion, a sense of love can be developed in the marriage, in this case, it does not really matter to marry someone you really love.

She also told me that this kind of “arranged marriage” is common in India and most of the girls accept it easily. I asked if it is too early for her to get married since she is only 22 years old. She told me it is nothing than normal to get married at this age in India.

“Most of the girls in India would get married before 25. If I stay single for too long, my family would be upset with me.” She said that to me.
