Everyone who have heard the stories of Ramayana from their grandparents, Manthara was an equal villian as Ravana.
There are some great stories about how she came to be associated with Kaikeyi and then with Dasharatha, about her reminding Kaikeyi of the boons she had got in return to her act of valour in saving her husband’s life.
While I read more about Manthara and Kaikeyi, I would strongly recommend watching this musical in full

To make it more compelling it is a musical by Shobana and voices were lent by celebrities like Naseerudhin shah, MohanLal, Jackie Shroff, Suhasini Maniratnam, Revathy, Milind soman and other famous film personalities.
