5 Golden Rules for excellent board preparation:

Begin with the end. Success is not an overnight phenomena we need to work for that. But don’t you think it’s kinda over-rated? Most students face problems because they don’t get proper guidance. Whatever percentage (%) you desire you can achieve it by following these tips and tricks:
  1. Set a goal:
To achieve something you need to focus on that thing with all your heart. For this the primary step is to set goals which motivate you and turn your dreams into actions. To set up goal here are some basic key points you can keep in mind.

Set goals which are clear and well defined. Vague ideas are unhelpful as they do not provide clarity and direction. Remember, you need to set goals which show you the way to reach the effective outcome. (ex.: the outcome is completing business studies in 30 days so for that you need to set weekly goal of finishing 2 chapters a day for effective completion of your course.)

The goals you choose for yourself should be measurable and quantifiable so that proper planning and assessment can be done.

Set practical goals which can be achieved. Don’t set unrealistic benchmarks they will only demoralize you.

The goals should be relevant to the outcome and help you to reach the desired result.

Set deadlines for completion of chapters individually and collectively. The time boundation should be output intensive not duration intensive. (ex.:studying for 1 hour should not be the time boundation, this will degrade the quality of preparation. Instead, time boundation should be completing 1 chapter in xx duration.)

Write down your goal and stick it where you can read it often, this is a psychological trick to motivate yourself

2. Gather the Resources:
You must have all the learning and study material before you sit down. Getting up again and again will hamper your concentration. Be ready with the notes, sample papers, notebooks, questions and practice material.

Brush up your vocabulary skills, analytical skills by practicing more numerical and questions if you’re a mathematics student, write answers for theory subjects for time management.

3. Create a plan
You have a goal, you have resources to accomplish it, now what? Identify course of action. Plan out curriculum systematically so that all the topics are covered, you have time for revision, and you practice sample test papers. ( ex.: the goal is to complete the syllabus of accountancy till 1st january 2017, so you have a month for it. You have notes and practice material. So the plan should be completing practical questions with highest weightage first, doing sample papers and previous year papers and then coming to the theory part.) you can plan according to your convenience and time.

4. Practice them
Scientifically it takes 18 days for a new behavior to become a habit. So practice your plan and it will become your habit. Your plan will keep you in the right direction so you have to be consistent with it, revising and making improvements regularly.

5. Assess yourself
Only doing the right thing doesn’t make you right. Once you have started studying you have to assess your progress. Measure where you were and now where you stand. Further, plan accordingly to remove any hindrance and drawbacks. This will improve quality of study and give you clear insight to the subjects.
