Affirmations

an acrostic poem

Leaf — photo, my own

Accept that flowers bloom when planted where they need to be — not before,
but perhaps after.

Flow against boundaries, push up against hard rocks until they are smoothed without effort.

Fix what can be, when it can be, without sacrificing more than can stretch over the needs of sunrise.

Insert round thoughts into square holes, learn how to make them fit, or break the box.

Remember when the way was lost, and what was found in the darkness of that last doorway your options ran out of.

Make far more than do, create visions that will blind those who can’t yet see in technicolor.

Allow each stiffness to soften, warm bones gently until malleable again.

Take time to pause, realize the importance of watching the rain; if you do, it will never cease to be beautiful.

Inspire yourself daily, be the person those flowers you planted are proud of.

On days when the mirror’s reflection doesn’t love you, remember that I do.

Never go through a weekend without a nature walk of no destination, and squeezing someone tighter than they expected.

Sense everything, leave no place untouched by the curiosity of awe, discover each cooling space where peace dwells, and meet it there.

Repeat, weekly.
