Aftermath of India’s surgical strike in Pakistan

18 Indian soldiers were killed in the Uri attack. After it was known that the attack was carried out by the terrorists from Pakistan, India was enraged as an entire nation. India’s surgical strike at the terrorist’s launch pads in Pakistan on Wednesday night was the retaliatory attack from India. It is being reported that around 40 terrorists were killed in the operation and massive damage was done to the infrastructure of the terrorists, while Indian soldiers returned back safely after being successful in carrying out these attacks.

A surgical strike is a military attack on the accurate target and enemy without collaterally killing any civilians or damaging any property which is not the target of the attack. Such a surgical strike on terrorists in Pakistan brought some kind of a relief to Indian masses in the sense that the precious life of 18 soldiers which were claimed in the Uri attack while they were guarding the nation did not go in vain.

India has sent a tacit message to Pakistan that it is capable of retaliatory action too against its terrorism apart from criticizing and condemning. If terrorism defies border, then to solve the problem, which continuously threatens India’s integrity, peace and causes loss of life and limb, India can go to any extent to remove the root cause of this evil that sickens our entire world. India should conduct these kinds of surgical strikes in Pakistan in regular interval until the disease of terrorism is completely cured.

It is not surprising at all that Pakistan has denied any kind of surgical strikes as is claimed by India. There are three reasons for such denial:

  1. Pakistan has been denying any presence of terrorism in its nation internationally. So, if it will admit now that such surgical strikes are indeed carried out by India on its terrorists base and launch pad, it will prove itself wrong internationally and invite international wrath and criticism.
  2. It has no chance against India in a direct war. So, even if it admits that Indian army has entered into its territory to give effect to such a military operation, it can do nothing as it has been internationally cornered due to its policy of protecting and funding terrorists. Even China, which has been a historical ally of Pakistan, is not with Pakistan at such critical juncture, although it has not supported India’s surgical strike.
  3. It will demoralize and break the confidence of army and people of Pakistan further.

Therefore, Pakistan is bound to remain silent under these circumstances. India should take advantage of this and should go on carrying out surgical strikes and precise bombing to break the backbone of terrorism. This is the only long-term solution to the problem of terrorism apart from continuing international pressure of alienating Pakistan and reviewing water sharing treaty to its disadvantage. At the same time, India should prepare for all kind of counter attack of Pakistan in the form actual or proxy war.
