Atavism and avatars

Hear, O monks.
Give ear to the voice of the one
Who prizes peace amongst believers 
Above all else. Let his words spread
To all, both far and near,
When he says with implicit faith
That the Power is One,
All Good is One,
All Bad is One
And all things have a common source; 
That all Gods are One,
Though painted in clashing colors, 
Called by different names,
Worshiped differently
And fought for, senselessly,
To the grief of the Avatars — 
The Mothers, the Sons and God Himself: 
Creator, Destroyer,
The one.
