Attending Marvels

Nothing happened before you were born.
Then exploded a big bang of light.
Suddenly, an entire world to understand.
You took to your feet and looked around.
Paradox presented itself as plausible.
There was much more to know than nothing.
Weird tales driven by the marvelous.
Stories teeming with cuddly monsters.
Familiar swimming pools swarming with sharks.
Love affairs with pale, imaginary women.
Steaming, smoldering, lascivious lust.
So many pointless rules and cruelties.
A catchy tune hummed by a lonely serpent.
A glorious garden to plunder and guard.
Savory stews of foreskins and labia.
So much to do, taste, be, and see.
The subtle burning within your brain.
Everything painted in your own chosen colors.
A random journey in every direction of time.
An extraordinary education in the absurd.
And all of it making perfect sense
simply because you opened your eyes,
only because you took that first breath.
