Does Anyone Recognize This Language?

I think it’s French, which I speak, but the handwriting has me baffled. It’s on the back of this photo of my twin aunts, who died of diphtheria before WW 2. I knew of their existence but my mother never told me she had a photo of them.

When I visited her in 2015, I combed through all her personal effects and found this picture. By then Mom was in early dementia and when I showed her the picture she said they “belonged to a Russian man.” Her father was Russian. Her comment broke my heart. How long before she didn’t know who I was?

Mom died two days ago.
