We have all mused at some point or other-

  1. Either this world is the only place with living beings in the entire Universe or we are not the only ones.
  2. What is beyond this ever-growing Universe, and what is the ultimate space in which it resides?

Thinking about these kinds of cosmic facts just makes our minds into a molten puddle. Who are we in this cosmos? It makes us question why we worry about many things in our lives. Moreover, it makes us question the very purpose of our inevitable existence.

We, negligibly small beings compared to the entirety of space, have affected a lot of transformation in this world. From discovering how to create fire, an element of nature, to be the cause of the near-extinction of several species, we have proven ourselves to be worthy of being named the most dangerous animal- our most vicious weapon being the mind. But, let it not be left unsaid, this very mind has been used for several greater good and betterment of this world. The creation of human beings is undeniably the most wondrous piece of work. Regardless of the fact that humans might have been created by the hands of god or evolved through the laws of nature.

We then ask ourselves, did god create man or did man create god?

Did god create this universe for a divine karmic purpose or did human beings create the concept of god to give a purpose to their lives? Is everything a random event and happening or is there a universal message behind it?

Even if there is nothing, it is still something that exists. We can call it anything, a dark void or the blank space in which the big bang happened or the Brahman as mentioned in the purānas. We have all come from that primordial existence and to it, we will all go. We are invariably a part of that eternal being. This knowledge and realisation will make a person to stop dwelling on the past and the future. It makes us focus on the present. It makes us to live this moment. It makes us devoid of worries, detached from worldly activities, and blissfully peaceful. It makes us realise who we are.

Purānas : (singular: purana) the ancient scriptures that is trove of numerous divine concepts.

Brahman : the primordial being as explained in the purānas.
