Forever Moor

The eternal garden. Pixabay

Today, I decided
it was time
I fought, I negotiated
I weighed the pain
thought better to cry
than have you leave me
but I lost my feet to cement

Please, understand
I must live
and you must go
to chase the dandelion wisps
as the breeze tosses them
across the great lawn

Today, my love
I packed you away
but in my memory
you’ll remain

Though we may live
a world apart
you’ll forever be
in my heart

It was you
who gave me courage
to face the light once more
knowing the heavens
will open another door

Fly free, my love
wings over the eternal moor
