madhusudan law college

All India Bar Council has prohibited granting advocate’s license to all the students obtaining their degrees from Madhusudan Law College, along with four other institutions. This means no one passing out from Madhusudan Law College can practice law before any courts and tribunals in the country and will not be considered as an advocate even after obtaining their law degree from M. S. Law College. This news came to light after the application to grant practice license of some 2011–16 batch students, who passed their integrated law course from M.S. Law College, was rejected by the Delhi Bar Council. The Delhi Bar Council clearly denied Ananya Mishra and Bhanu Pratap Mishra who obtained their degree from Madhusudan Law College to grant practice license. The Delhi Bar Council has shown the reason that the BCI has stricly prohibited all Bar Councils to grant practice license to the students passing from the colleges which have been negligent and had not paid any fees to the BCI for years, and Madhusuadan law college falls in this category. Madhusudan Law College has not paid BCI fees since 2010 and is still negligent to pay the fees which have led to such consequences for the passed out students, who having completely paid their fees have to face such problems without any of their fault. Under such prohibition from Bar Council of India , the practice certificate obtained from any other state bar council is not pursuant to law as all bar councils have to follow the guidelines of Bar Council of India. This problem can be solved only if Madhusudan Law College pay its unpaid fees to the BCI. In the meantime, the future of the students currently studying five-year integrated law in Madhusudan Law College has been pushed into the well of darkness and uncertainty.
