Hi everyone! Reading this article.

Ask yourself a question. Am I living or just existing? ⚠️ I’m sure many will think, “What kind of nonsense question is this?” We know the truth but it is hard to accept including me.

Yes, there is a difference between living and existing. I think living is much more complex than existing because we are adapted to exist, not to be alive.

If you’re truly living, you’ll wake up each day with a purpose other than “I have to pay the bills.” You have a dream that you pursue for at least part of the time.

You are probably appreciative of what you have if you are alive. You don’t have to go after money-based fantasies about what you’d like to be able to buy. A lively person is not frightened of change. They understand that life does not always remain the same. Things take place.

The people living don’t need to be constantly striving for the next promotion, pay raise, or marginally better work that they will still — at best — accept. But we are all running a rat race. The sad truth is I am also a part of it.

Many earn money to save money for their dream house. I am not commenting on it. I am asking them a question: building a house for you and your family is an asset you are leaving. You may feel proud of it. But are you seriously enjoying it? I would say not. But between the rat race of chasing behind money and your dream, you forget to live your life. Many of you forget to spend some quality time with your family and forget to do the little things which you love make you happy.

Where does the thought of running a race and chasing money originate? It’s from our own house, our society. Because nowadays, people respect people who have money, who have big houses, who are engineers and doctors. So the typical society controls each and everyone’s life. We can’t blame society. What is society?

Simply, society is US, including myself. The thoughts running in our minds are the controlling factor. Many people’s futures are being ruined by these thoughts. Not letting themselves be alive. Pushing everyone to be a participant in the rat race. Because parents are deciding the future of the children at their birth. They are influencing and projecting to children that doctors ,engineers, lawyers, and government jobs are the safest jobs to work in and earn money while living proudly in society.

Parents do not allow their children to explore themselves. Parents see if a child is not good at education, his total life as a failure. Parents always compare their children with one another. They are sowing the thoughts they have to their children 🚫. We have to change our minds. If the parents have a sight, what about others? First Parents must understand their children that they may have another talent that they are unaware of. Let them decide and explore themselves. Maybe the dancer, musician, comedian, whichever makes him happy.

A simple example I have been good at mathematics since my childhood and I have enjoyed solving mathematical problems and learning new things in mathematics. So many say that you have to choose the Physical science stream because you are doing well at mathematics. So you have to be an engineer. That day, I didn’t know what engineering was, so I just decided that if a person is good at mathematics, he should be an engineer. So I followed that typical path and I am a final year engineering student now. I can study things and manage to get good results. And I am very sure I will get a good job with a good salary. But there is a question within myself whether I am happy and content in this field. But the answer is no. I’m not happy, but I’m not enjoying it. For the fake sake of society, I am also not living my life. I am also just existing and following the norms of the typical society. In this rat race of life, I have not taken chances to explore myself and to identify what I love to do. I don’t want to be a victim of these thoughts anymore.

Parents who are reading this article, this is a kind request to you all. That is enough. Don’t inject the thoughts you have into your children. Don’t let them be a part of the cyclic syndrome we have. Let’s break the chain. Don’t decide their future. Let them explore themselves. Let them decide their career. Don’t tie their wings. Let them fly. Only teach them to live, not to exist. They will find their own way.

Thank you for reading!
