I am sick of such terrible excuses of humans running the most influential and powerful bodies in our nation. I am shamed that the country I say I’m from, is lead by leaders so disastrously daft and devoid of rationale. I am, by birth, an american citizen — so it shouldn’t be hard to grasp why I put more faith in Indian, rather than American governmental or civic bodies after last year.

“lead by leaders so disastrously daft and devoid of rationale.”

Most recently, a radio jockey from Mumbai by the name of Malishka hilariously addressed the BMC (The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) and their lack of action towards the repercussions of the harsh monsoon, more specifically, the city’s infamous protruding potholes (excuse the irony). These potholes are unfortunately responsible for 10,876 deaths in 2015; and she addressed this, through a rap video, which went viral over social media.

BMC responded like the reasonable, level-headed Indian corporation would, by issuing a notice to the RJ under section on 381B of Mumbai Municipal Corporation claiming that they found Aedes mosquito breeding sites in her residence, after they barged in twice, unannounced and uninvited — because that’s the dark secret of all middle aged women working as radio jockeys. The Yuva Sena, on the other hand, was very supportive as they slapped a 500 crore lawsuit against Malishka for defamation.

BMC has justified their response by mentioning that many BMC employees who work tirelessly to keep the city afloat during the rains, were irked and demotivated by the viral video. Additionally, the BMC has publicly ‘cleared’ intentions of inspecting the RJ’s residence without notice or permission; apparently, it was a part of their routine inspection process (*just your casual corrupt civic bodies cooking up stories*).

So naturally, I have something to say. If you, BMC, cannot fulfil your duty in benefitting the lives of your citizens then please do not bother to try. Clearly, your ‘demotivated employees’ aren’t making much of a difference anyway. You are ineffective and unproductive and a pathetic excuse for a corporation. There, I said it.

Do not violate our country’s constitution by threatening to endanger people who have the courage to pinpoint your flaws.

Do not expect your citizens to trust you based on what you say, rather than on what you do.

Do not insult your own nation by veiling your flaws and faults with words like defamation and dengue.

Now if you wish to barge into my house and dramatically proclaim that I’m an illegal hacker working for the Nazis, then good luck selling that story.

I’ll bet it’ll sell slower than you fix potholes.
